PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
Artwork is once again gracing the walls of The Gallery at Mountain Shadows. The latest series by Sébastien Nedjar, “Pursuit of Happiness,” focuses on how today’s global consumer only consumes in order to seek real emotion and approval from others, no matter the cost. Born in Paris and now residing in both New York and Phoenix, Nedjar graduated from the Corvisart School of Graphic Arts. There, he studied architectural structures that later became central to his work as an artist. Nedjar navigates Middle Eastern and Asian cultural relationships and social codes as they relate to self and space. Inspired by synthetism and the Bauhaus, his works feature industrial materials in the context of domestic scale.
