Join us for A Holiday Taste of Fiber Arts and learn several fiber techniques in one class!  We’ll combine blanket stitch embroidery, fusible appliqué, and simple crochet to create a unique fabric gift that can be used as a decoration, as an ornament, or as wrapping for a small, special gift.  The class is suitable for ages 12 and up, so don’t forget to bring the kids with you!
You will be provided with batik fabric for the body and contrasting fabric for embellishment, perle cotton for stitching, crochet cotton for a decorative edging, a suitable needle for stitching, and a crochet hook.  Please bring sewing scissors suitable for cutting fabric and your imagination.
Jane Timmers is a needlework designer whose main area is small sewing accessories that combine her love of historical costume with the many hand-sewing and mounting techniques that are required for finishing.  She markets her designs through her business, Fancy Work.  She also teaches for Embroiderer’s Guild of America chapters and for sampler guilds and needlework shops on the local, regional and national level.
Linda Fetter has been plying fibers arts since before she started school. Knitting is her passion and she has been teaching knitting and crochet for 15 years.  Linda is also an experienced sewer and she has served three terms as president of the Atlanta Knitting Guild.
