Artists’ Fellowships are $7,000 cash awards made to individual originating artists living and working in the state of New York for unrestricted use. Grants are awarded in 16 artistic disciplines, with applications accepted in eight categories each year. Since the fellowship program’s inception in 1984, NYFA has awarded over $24 million to over 3,700 artists. In 2010, NYFA awarded 115 Fellowships to 118 artists, with three of them working in a collaboration.

All applicants of NYFA’s 2010 Artists’ Fellowships Program have been notified of the status of their application via the email address submitted to the online application. If you have not received notification please check your spam folder. If you are unable to locate your email notification please email fellowships@nyfa.org.

To be eligible for a NYFA Fellowship, applicants must be a resident of New York State for at least two years prior to the application deadline and cannot be enrolled in a degree program of any kind. NYFA will begin accepting on-line submissions at www.nyfa.org/afp in early-September. Applications are due during the first week of November; please refer to the Application Guidelines to find out the specific date for each category.
